Nagpur woman attacked; Take a taxi to hospitals: Police

Muskaan Nayyar living with her 15-year-old son in Dongre Layout, wanted the authorities to give her suggestions in writing as she feared another dangerous attack.

Nagpur: 48-year-old Muskaan Nayyar was booked by an officer of the rank of API of Bajaj Nagar police station before registering a case. It was suggested to ‘take a cab’ to go to any government hospital for a medical check-up. On the date of 12 April, the woman was attacked by two youths riding a bike between Abhyankar Nagar and Shraddhanandpeth.

Another officer intervened and said that Muskaan Nayyar should be sent in another police vehicle with an escort.

Muskaan Nayyar was with his 75-year-old mother when he was severely assaulted. Muskaan Nayyar has said that two youths on the bike stopped his bike and then his mother quickly got down from the bike and also raised the alarm, Some spectators, including a lawyer, also stopped there for help.

He has said that seeing the crowd gathering more, these two bike riders fled from the spot. And then after informing the control room, the police reached the spot.

FIR was hesitant to name a builder

According to the CCTV footage of Muskaan Nayyar’s house too, the face of the attacker and the registration number of the bike were also covered.

Muskaan Nayyar has said that the attack took place barely about 300 meters from his house.

She has said that she was even more upset by the fact that the assistant police inspector FIR was more hesitant to name a builder as a suspect behind the attack. She had been at loggerheads with the builder for the past several months over the redevelopment of the property where she lives with her son. The assistant police inspector knew everything about the dispute between him and the builder, yet was very hesitant to name the builder.

Muskaan Nayyar said he had also filed a non-cognizable offense against the builder in the month of October last year. His house was also damaged. The water supply had also been cut off and they too were living in constant danger. Explaining why he needs police protection.

Senior Inspector Shubhangi Deshmukh of Bajaj Nagar Police Station has now said that he will definitely investigate the matter.
