National Seminar on Working Women Held in Nagpur
With International Women’s Day just passing by, it was an apt juncture to discuss upon issues of women including the ones for Working Women. The one day National Seminar on Working Women: Issues and Challenged was organised jointly by five different colleges including Dharampeth M.P. Deo Memorial Science College Nagpur, Dr.M.K. Umathe Cllege, Nagpur, Bar. Seshrao Wankhede College of Arts and Commerce Khaperkheda, Arunrao Kalode Mahavidhyalaya Nagpur and Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidhyalaya Jaripatka Nagpur.
The seminar was held at the Auditorium Dharampeth M.P.Deo Memorial Science College Nagpur. The seminar had Dr. Narayan Mehere as the chief guest who is the Regional Director of YCMOU Regional Center, Nagpur. He highlighted the issues of bringing out gender equality and promote the social status of the woman along with achieving the social and economic growth of the country. Dr.Rajashree V. Bathale , General Manager Outreach, NRSC, Hydrabad was called as the key-note Speaker who highlighted the current status of women and thus discussed issues like the time management for working woman and other issues.
She also shared her experience of visiting countries like Antarctica wherein she showcased how she had enjoyed the Indian food there. Mandatai Umathe as a special guest who is the President of Satimata Sikshan Sansthan also highlighted the current Social Legislation, govt enhancements and policies, gaps in their implementation. The other issues were also discussed by the guest speakers at the conference by Dr.Asha Bhate Dharampeth Education Society, Dr.Shraddha Naidu Principal of Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidhyalaya Nagpur, Mrs.Aruna Sabane, Social Activist, Writer etc.
