NHAI to withdraw its application for grant of permission to transplant 4,953 trees and file fresh application

Nagpur: On Wednesday Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court to (NHAI) National Highways Authority of India. It has suggested and file a fresh application to avoid the technical issues and withdraw its application for the permission to transplant around the 4,953 trees.
There are 2 lawyers named Ajay Tiwari and Shweta Burbure regarding Ajni Forest. The suggestion of the High Court came at the time of hearing on this writ petition filed on behalf of both. An application for an extension of 8 weeks was filed by the state government. Before Justice Anil S Kilor and Justice Sunil B Shukre. Because the authority of the tree of this state was yet to be constituted.
National Highways Authority of India lawyer named Anand Parchure has informed. The High Court that The Inter-Modal Station (IMS) project inside Ajni is getting delayed. Due to non-transplantation of all trees. And then the High Court has said that in such a situation. The National Highways Authority of India itself should expedite the much-needed permissions.
Transplantation of 1,940 trees
The counsel for the petitioners named Anil Kumar has informed the court. That the total project was only over 446 acres of land. This application was only for planting trees from 46 acres. Since in view of any new amendment within the Tree Act. The division of the project was not permissible at all. Hence this application could have been rejected outright. And then he has further stated that the application was made keeping in view these reports of the experts.
In which the suggestion of planting about 1,940 trees was given. Whereas the application was only for about 4,953 trees. However, the court has not passed any order in writing on this. And this matter has been adjourned till the date of 21 October.
