Passenger Train Services Starts from Today
Its been more than a month to see the trains getting affected and shut down the train services in the country. All thanks to the complete lockdown due to the widespread COVID 19 virus in the country that seems to have kept India stranded. As per reports, the trains services are resumed and they are likely to take the stranded labourers, students and others in the city and other states during the lockdown. The IRCTC site opened up the reservations to restart the passenger trains starting from 12th May.
The tickets were available only till 4 pm for 12th May on the site of the IRCTC. The Indian Railways informed that they will not supply bedsheets, blankets and food on the train and that the passengers should carry the same along with them. Only the AC tickets were given and not the sleeper tickets were given. The IRCTC has been recommending to download the app called Aarogya Setu app as introduced by the government, however, this is only meant to get the updates about the virus and not a condition to travel.
The home affairs Minister has issued a notice on the SOP of the movement of the trains. As per the guidelines, the passengers are required to wear face masks along with observing the social distancing norms along with entering the station during the travel. The passengers with confirmed bookings via e-tickets would be allowed to board the trains. The movement of the passengers along with others will be monitored. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
