40 lakh rupees cheated from job seekers in fake railway recruitment drive

After these rackets thumped the palms of their very "good contacts" in the Railways, all these candidates were promised absolutely hassle-free jobs.

Nagpur: About half a dozen job aspirants have been duped of about Rs 40 lakh in a fake railway recruitment racket that surfaced after the FIR was registered at the Sonegaon police station.

After these racketers patted the palms of their very good contacts in Railways, all these candidates were promised absolutely hassle free jobs.

On the complaint of Prithviraj Pandey, Sonegaon Police has registered a case of criminal breach of trust and cheating against Nilesh Thakre, Ajit Kumar alias Hitesh Hedau and Kawaljeet Gaherwal.

Police have told that Prithviraj, who used to work as a property dealer, had met all these rackets through Nilesh. And then other candidates were later trapped by pretending to get a job as a ticket checker in Northern Railway. A police officer who is also a part of this investigation has said that “This racket is spread all over India. In Nagpur district, these racketeers have also misused the name of Northern Railway headquartered in Delhi. And that is why it will be very difficult for anyone living inside Maharashtra to verify these credentials properly.”

Tie-up with Northern Railway

It is also learned that now citing tie-up with Northern Railway, these racketeers had arranged completely fake medical examination in a Delhi hospital. These rackets also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh each on each victim after medical examination.

A policeman has also said that this accused later prepared a completely bogus select list and then shared it with these victims through his WhatsApp chat.

Only after convincing all these victims to give Rs 2 lakh more, These racketeers took those victims to Sarangpur in Madhya Pradesh to do so-called training sessions and then keep those victims in 1 abandoned school for 1 month also. A police officer has also said that it was a ridiculous training session and all the victims realized that those victims were being duped. Whereas these rackets were issuing absolutely fake appointment letters to those victims.

The officer has also said that this case was registered after these victims went to the police station in Sonegaon.
