Vinod Indurkar is new director of Center for Cultural Resources and Training

Nagpur: Fine art guru Vinod Indurkar is set to be the new director of the Center for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), which is also one of the premier institutes working in the field of integrating education with culture.
The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training also implements the policies of the Ministry of Culture. Scholarships to young artists, junior and senior fellowships with a focus on “deep study/research” in various aspects of culture such as and these also include the newly emerging fields of cultural studies.
It also conducts training programs on arts management under the NICHM scheme, which is a brand-new initiative of the Ministry of Culture. In addition, the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training is also implementing the Cultural Heritage Youth Leadership Program with the aim of promoting social values and community engagement among the youth.
Indurkar’s most recent contribution to the city of Nagpur is the beautification
Indurkar is also the Tagore Professor of Fine Arts and former Head of the Department of Fine Arts, at Nagpur University. He is also working as an expert in various organizations related to art and culture. Also, under his guidance, 27 scholars have obtained Ph.D. so far and he is also the only professor with D.Litt in Fine Arts.
Indurkar’s most recent contribution to the city of Nagpur is the beautification of Metro pillars at intersections as well as the theme-based beautification of Futala Lake. And along with this, the team of artists working under his guidance has made beautiful murals on the pillars of the Metro. Also as a member of the National Focus Group on Art Education constituted by NCERT, he has completely prepared the roadmap for the Fine Arts subject for the National Education Policy.
