Who is Dimple Cheema?

Dimple Cheema ji was born between 1975 -1979 in Chandigad. There he did his studies. Dimple Cheema has studied Bachelor of Arts (BA). And after that he took admission in Panjab University to pursue his MA (English) degree but he stopped it midway due to some family reasons.

When did Vikram Batra meet Dimple Cheema?

Vikram Batra and Dimple Cheema first met in 1995. It was in Panjab University that Dimple Cheema and Captain Vikram Batra met each other for the first time. Both used to study in the same college and gradually both became good friends of each other and then after having a good friendship with each other, they started meeting with each other. But from the very beginning, Vikram Batra wanted to join the Indian Military Force.

So he left his studies in the middle and later he also joined the CDC test, after that he got a chance to go to the Indian Military Academy (IMA).

And after that both of them were rarely able to meet with each other because most of the time Vikram Batra was on his duty. But whenever he used to come home, he used to spend a lot of time with Dimple.

What is the relation between Dimple Cheema and Vikram Batra?

Dimple Cheema is actually the fiancee of the martyr Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred in the Kargil war. After the death of Vikram Batra, Dimple decided not to marry for the rest of his life.
Although Dimple ji was in a relationship with Vikram Batra ji for about 3 to 4 years, then Captain Vikram Batra and Dimple Cheema also got engaged.

After coming back from Kargil, both of them were also going to get married together. But on 7 July 1999, Captain Vikram Batra was martyred after a bullet hit Vikram in the chest. And Vikram ji could never come back, so Dimple Cheema decided she won’t marry with anyone and remain a widow for the rest of his life.
