Muslim organizations again instigated the reservation movement
Muslim Arshakan Sangharsh Samiti President Farhat Baig has said that he has resumed supporting some organizations from across the state to raise his demand for reservation for backward class Muslims.
Chandrapur: District Chandrapur Muslim organizations of having come together to once again instigate the movement for their demand for reservation of backward classes. And the assembly is also in session and in such a situation, Muslim Arshakan Sangharsh Samiti (MASS) and Bharatiya Muslim Parishad (BMP) have decided to organize a state-wide agitation on Friday for the demand of reservation.
Muslim Arshakan Sangharsh Samiti President Farhat Baig has said that he has resumed supporting some organizations from across the state to raise his demand for reservation for backward class Muslims. And on this demand too, on Friday, simultaneous agitation will be organized at all the district headquarters and the headquarters of the taluka.
He has also said that the demand for reservation for backward class Muslims is also based on the report of the Mahmadur Rahman Committee and Justice Sachar. The Government of Maharashtra, under the ordinance dated July 9, 2014, had given a reservation of about 5% in backward jobs and education in this state.
NCP and Congress are in power
The High Court of Mumbai had also banned reservation in jobs. But the reservation in education was also allowed to continue. The previous BJP government did not bring an ordinance in both the houses at all. And the ordinance depriving Muslims of reservation has been acquitted.
Bharatiya Muslim Parishad President Javed Pasha has said that the ruling Congress and NCP had promised to give reservation to backward Muslims if they came to power. And even CM Uddhav Thackeray had assured to consider the demand during the month of protest march held during last winter’s session.
Now that the NCP and the Congress are in power, it is absolutely imperative for them to give reservation to the backward Muslims as provided during their previous regimes.
