Anti-encroachment drive in city continues seizing 7 truck loads of materials
The civic body – NMC seems busy continuing with its anti-encroachment drive in the city. It has continued on Sunday as well, which was carried out under the drive. During the anti-encroachment, the civic body has razed many illegal structures in the city particularly the ones at the pavements of Gandhibagh and Itwari area. While carrying out more than 100 encroachments in the said areas in the city, the NMC officials also seized 7 truckloads of materials.
During the drive, the many shops were razed using the JCB in the area despite getting too much agitation. But with the additional police force present at the place, things did not work out for them who agitated the drive. As per the rules, the people who are the victim of such drive are given with the required spaces in the designated place. However, instead of doing it in the said place, the shop was seen installed on the footpath.
Before carrying out the drive, the people on the spaces were seen abusing the NMC officials like anything and they were seen creating tensions before ane even abused the officials. However, with the presence of Police, the drive was further carried out. The anti-encroachment drive was carried out from the Nanga statue to Teen Naal chowk and then it entered towards the Sarafa lane followed by the medical market area and then to the cotton market in Gandhibag. With the ongoing drive, one can witness too many dramas by the locals but it seems that the civic body is least bothered about the same.
