Just after the news came out that a veteran lawyer from Nagpur Mr. Sharad Bobde has been recommended by the current Chief Justice of India – Justice Gogoi, we now hear that things are taking a proper shape. It has been given a green signal by the President of India Mr. Ramnath Kovind. The Prez has signed his official appointment letter of Mr. Bobge confirming that he would be the next Chief Justice of India’s most prestigious and supreme body called The Supreme Court of India.
The senior lawyer would be the 47th CJI in the country and he would hold the position once Justice Gogoi retires this year. As per reports, Mr. Bobde would be taking the pledge on the coming Monday of the next month of November. While Justice Gogoi would be retiring on 18th November 2019 allowing the city lawyer to take up the position. This will certainly going to be a proud moment for the city lawyers and law fraternity in Nagpur along with other citizens of the city.
As per reports, the High Court Bar Association would be organizing a grand felicitation for the upcoming CJI of The Supreme Court. This will be a proud moment and thus the city would have the best of its celebration. Currently, the upcoming CJI from the city happens to be the VC of National Law University and is based in Nagpur.
