Electric Engines to Replace the Diesel Engines Soon in Central Railway
Electric Engines have been the best resort for the Indian Railways. However, despite the electrification taking place in Central Railway, Nagpur region, we still see a wide array of diesel engines are still in use. In the recent meeting of the top officials of Nagpur’s Central Railway at DRM office, the decision to replace all the remaining diesel enginers on an immediate effect. This has been done in the wake of the impact on the environment by fossil fuel.
The electric-based engines have no impact on the environment and are more effective when compared to the diesel engines that have made the officials in Nagpur region to decide to replace all the remaining diesel engines with electric ones on an urgent basis. It was days when the steam engines were in use in most of the areas of the country including Central Railways, Nagpur and soon they were replaced by the diesel.
Thus the cycle of the replacement and review have been carried out too often in history and now its the turn of Diesel engines to be replaced by the Electric engines in the recent past. However, a few diesel engines are still remaining in the Nagpur’s central railway, the last nail in the coffin is all set to be struck soon discarding the diesel engines with the electric ones.
