Nagpur: Government Railway Police (GRP), Itwari has helped a very poor woman get her mangalsutra back on the date of September 28, almost 999 days after it was stolen in a train in date of January 4, 2019.
Government Railway Police Itwari in-charge, Assistant Inspector of Police (PI) named Mubarak Shaikh has recovered the stolen Mangalsutra after seeing a woman from a nomadic tribe being put around her neck. The woman was part of a gang of robbers from Itwari to Gondia shuttle train.
After knowing the details of the stolen mangalsutra. Mubarak had identified its owner Sushma Kavale from the inscriptions and then helped her recover it.
“He was a thief from the nomadic tribe. The members of this tribe do not wear gold mangalsutra. Nor do the members of this tribe dispose of it. This knowledge had led me to the chain around his neck,” said Shaikh.
Pray For Mangalsutra
Shaikh has said that the thief has said that this mangalsutra is his. So, I brought Kavle before him. And told about the poverty and devotion of that victim. After which that nomadic woman was broken and then after that she confessed to stealing.
Kavale used to pray for this mangalsutra. This mangalsutra was given to him by his mother. And a lot of feelings were attached to this mangalsutra. She would prefer to pray to God to return the mangalsutra instead of contemplating changing it. She has said that “We had lost all hope in spite of our prayers to God,”
Shaikh was the first to ensure that the Haryana national level kabaddi player gets his cell phone back after nearly two and a half years. He had lost his phone in Itwari station in March 2019.
Shaikh had recovered the lost phone from Naxal-affected Gondia and then sent the phone back to the player through courier. Shaikh has said that in total we have returned very valuable items worth about 6 lakh rupees in the last about six months.
