This Diwali weekend, we had three films releasing in the city along with the other places in the country. These include Housefull 4, Made in China and Saandh Ki Aankh. Except for the former, the two other films were in bad shape in terms of collection at the box office. Let’s talk about the former first. The multi-starrer film Housefull 4 had a decent collection at the box office as it managed to secure 52.5 Crores at the box office on its first weekend.
Although, the makers were expecting a huge collection close to 100 Crores but it failed to do so for obvious reasons. The next was the film Made In China starring Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy. The film however, had a very bad buzz in the media with not much of the promotions in the media and the competition faced by the makers in a big way. With this collection for the film on the 1st weekend went all time low. It went to get around 2. 5 Crores on the first weekend.
The last film – Saandh Ki Aankh was really in a bad shape. The film had a very poor buzz in the media as it faced a tough competition from the other two films and secondly it is a niche based film that failed to give a good ray of hope for the makers. The film was not promoted the way it deserved to be done in the media and thirdly it was not at all a masala movie as it only attracted a small section of the audience who seems to have interest in such content driven films. The first weekend box office collection was around 1.55 Crores and it would like to remain low during the weekdays as well.
