January Covid toll in Vidarbha touches 100
A day after reporting a sharp drop due to less testing, the number has increased by almost 300, But it was very less compared to Sunday.
Nagpur: With 14 deaths from covid, the highest single-day figure so far in the third wave, the Vidarbha region’s coronavirus death toll has reached 100 in January on Tuesday. Among the districts of the Vidarbha region, around 60 deaths have taken place in Nagpur alone. And yet, the daily toll in Nagpur is less than 10, In which people from other districts and rural areas are also included this month.

Washim’s data was not available at all till the filing of this report. 6,640 cases of covid were registered in 10 districts of the Vidarbha region, 4,533 have been cured, Out of which 52,934 covid patients are active.
In Nagpur, 4,028 cases of covid have been reported, Including 972 from rural, 2,956 from city, and 100 residents of outer district. Six people have also died in this district. Out of which one is from rural and five from city. The number of people who have been cured has increased to 2,519 while 29,152 cases of covid are active. More than 11,000 tests have been done a day.
Bhandara: This district had conducted more than 3,117 tests and 618 new covid cases were reported, While 248 have been cured, While 2,490 have been activated.
Gondia: 176 positive cases of covid were found in this district. More than 1,580 patients are active while 792 tests have been done. And 144 patients have been cured.
Akola: One patient has died in Akola, in which 320 patients of covid have been cured. And 392 new cases of covid were reported. The active covid cases are 2,666.
Gadchiroli: Despite 1,281 active covid patients in this district, 43 new cases of covid have been registered and 201 have been cured.
Buldhana: The district has 2,462 active covid cases after 211 new cases of covid were registered and 206 were discharged. It has done 1,278 tests.
Wardha: Two covid positive persons have died during treatment in the district, Due to which the death toll on Tuesday has gone up to 1,332.
Yavatmal: After a very long gap, Yavatmal reported the death of a 70-year-old man from covid, Who was admitted to GMCH on Sunday with symptoms of coronavirus. The toll in this district is currently 1,790. There are 1,868 active positive patients in the district, Out of which about 77 are in isolation in the hospital. And 1,791 are in-home quarantine.
Chandrapur: In the test of 2,287 samples in this district, 308 covid positive cases have come out on Tuesday. With 352 recovering and no casualties reported in the district during the day, 3,882 active patients remained under treatment.
Amravati: Three deaths in the district have taken the toll to 1,573 on Tuesday, Even a spike of around 340 has taken the caseload to 1,01,849. With 260 cured in this district, the total has been 96.608 at the rate of 94.85. Due to which 3,636 active covid cases are left under treatment.
