Laborer caught for allegedly ogling woman

Chandrapur: In Belgaon village of Bramhapuri taluka of the district, a laborer who allegedly stalked a woman has been tied to a tractor and thrashed on Monday.

A video showing some people beating and threatening the laborer, also identified as Rahul Jagdale has gone viral on social media. On the complaint of the contractor who engaged Jagdale, the Bramhapuri police have also registered a case against the three attackers.

According to the police, the work of laying a pipeline for the public tap water scheme is also going on in Belagavi. Beed contractor Bhagwant Jagtap has also employed some laborers from his native district.

Contractor has filed a complaint on his behalf

While this work was going on, a group of villagers caught Jagdale allegedly trying to molest a woman. Enraged by this, the woman’s family members Nilesh, Dinesh, and Ganesh Avsare tied the laborer to a tractor, slapped him and thrashed him severely with a leather belt.

Someone recorded this whole incident from mobile and then put it on social media. In the video, one of the attackers can also be seen calling the contractor and summoning him to the spot.

Both these parties were brought to the police station. The victim Jagdale was so scared that he completely refused to say anything in front of the police.

The contractor has filed a complaint on his behalf. And on the basis of the complaint, the Bramhapuri police have registered an offense under IPC sections 294 (using obscene words in public), 341 (wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (assault), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acting with common intention) against accused Nilesh, Dinesh, and Ganesh Avsare. Now further investigation is also being done.
