The current state of Nagpur seems to be grim with the ongoing construction of cement roads at different places in the city. However, this was meant to make the city smart and rich in the infrastructure, but the corruption that seems to be witnessed in the system has led to irregularities in the city about the cement road construction in Nagpur. This has now started haunting the Nagpur people in a big way as it has become the cause of accidents in the city.
Now, with this grim situation, the city mayor seems to have entered into the scene asking for a probe into the cement road works over the irregularities in the city. He has been getting updates about the local corporators in different parts of the city about the violations and irregularities in the work. He has raised the issue in the Annual General Body meeting. Taking up the issue forward Mr. Satish Holay the present member of the BJP Led PWD department committee to raise this issue.
He claimed that the civic body and the people involved in the construction of the roads have failed to carry out the work as per the norms set by the IRC or Indian Road Congress. There seemed a much-heated debate on the issue of the width of the cement road along with other issues. The AGM also suggested stopping payments to the contractors who have been hand and glove to the local authorities involved in road construction claimed the opposition leader Tanaji Wanve.
