MP Balu Dhanorkar and his wife MLA Pratibha Dhanorkar celebrated Diwali with transgenders
In the last nearly two years, during the Covid pandemic, unorganized transgenders have suffered the most during the lockdown.
Chandrapur: Member of Parliament (MP) Balu Dhanorkar and his wife MLA Pratibha Dhanorkar celebrated a grand Diwali by inviting transgenders to their celebrations. And Dhanorkar couple has also shared the joy of this festival with transgenders along with local Congress leaders and along with this, they should be presented with saris and other gifts given by brothers to sisters during this festival.
In the last nearly two years, during the Covid pandemic, unorganized transgenders have suffered the most during the lockdown. They were forced to completely depend on alms during this pandemic period. Simultaneously after learning about their plight, the Dhanorkar couple started celebrating Diwali with transgenders from last year as well.
This year also, the Dhanorkars have completely continued their tradition of sharing happiness with this marginalized section of society. Along with this, senior Congress leaders including State General Secretary Vinod Dattatreya, district women president (rural) Namrata Themaskar, Gopal Amrutkar, Dinesh Chokare, and others have also attended the function.
Dhanorkar has assured to work very hard to bring their problems to the national level
The guests were overwhelmed by the immense love, affection, and happiness showed toward them. The couple sought the blessings of the transgenders and distributed gifts among them.
The Dhanorkar couple also interacted a lot with him and got to know about their problems very well. Member of Parliament Balu Dhanorkar has also claimed that he had promised the right house to the transgender community only last year. The work of construction of their houses is also in the final stage and they will be handed over to them by next month.
Dhanorkar has assured to work very hard to bring their problems to the national level and also to bring transgenders into the mainstream of society. And he has also recalled their support during the election campaign and has also claimed that he has been in constant touch with transgenders since then. He has also said that MLA Pratibha Dhanorkar has also raised the demand for about 2% reservation for transgenders in the police force.
