MPs want concession in fares, stoppage of trains restored
MP Dr. Vikas Mahatme has said that he has presented many demands including setting up of a goods terminus on railway land at Godhni.
Nagpur: During a meeting with Central Railway general manager Anil Kumar Lahoti on Monday, the MPs of the region also decided to restore travel concessions to senior citizens. He has also demanded a very fast pace of infrastructure work and stoppage of Mail/Express trains at stations in his constituency.
MP Dr. Vikas Mahatme has said that he has presented many demands including setting up of a goods terminus on railway land at Godhni. Which is also near Nagpur and is very well connected by roads. This will also reduce a lot of congestion in Nagpur.
Vikas Mahatme has said that his other demands include speedy completion of ROBs and RUBs in the Nagpur Division and inordinate delays in the third and fourth line projects. Some of their demands such as laying a broad gauge line from Itwari to Motibagh workshop and establishing a facility for overhauling (ROH) of wagons on 40-50 acres of railway land in Kalamana Routine were also related to SECR.
The members of Rajya Sabha also wanted that the Central Railway should take very fast steps for much better connectivity of platform number 8 than number 1 and also construct a bridge to connect the metro station to the east. He also demanded to stop at least five Mail/Express trains at Pandhurna.
Demanded about 18 coach trains from Dhule to Mumbai
BJP’s Wardha MP Ramdas Tadas has also said that the officials had informed him that senior citizen fare concession and general coaches will start once again from the date of June 29.
BJP’s Wardha MP Ramdas Tadas has said that Lahoti had promised that the stoppage of trains would be restored after the shortage of coal was overcome. To pave the way for faster transportation of coal, Railways are also giving first priority to coal rakes.
Dhule MP Subhash Bhamre has also demanded about 18 coach trains from this Dhule to Mumbai. Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane also wanted the stoppage of these trains at Narkhed and demanded that the station be developed as a model station in his constituency as well.
Betul MP Durgadas Uikey had also said that the much-publicized Amla station must have the facility of coach indicator and display and the length of the platform should also be increased.
