Nagpur Police Raids Coffee Lounge busting Hookah Parlour
In the recent buzz around the crime taking place in the city, the Nagpur Police have raided the place called Hub Coffee Lounge at Achraj Tower based in Chhaoni near Sadar. The said place also has a hookah parlour, which seemed to be functioning despite the lockdown period. The cops on Friday were seen raiding the said place and have nabbed three people from the said location. These include the manager of Hub Coffee Lounge, the owner and one more person in this regard.
As per The Hitavada Cityline, they also were seen seizing the hookah pots, along with the packets of flavoured tobacco and other material. THe people arrested include Romeo Raymond Micheal the owner of the place who hails from Bhilgaon, while Aman Vinod Patil the manager of the place who is from Ambedkar Nagar, Bezonbagh along with Ankit Aloysius a resident of Basti, Sadar. The police acted on a tip-off about the said parlour being functional during the lockdown period.
The police then barged with his team comprising of PI Kishor Parvate, PSI Atul Ingole, WPSI Preetu Kulmethe, WPSI Smita Sonwane, HC Manoj Singh Chauhan, HC Praveen Fanande and WPC Chhaya Raut who together raided the Hub Coffee Lounge. As per reports, the cops were accused of running the illegal hookah center and it also attracted a sizable amount of customers for the same. The police also seized hookah pots, the scented tobacco and material worth 20k. They were also booked under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce,Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, IPC along with the Epidemic Disease Act, Disaster Management Act.
