Nagpur University to observe National Mathematics Day on 23rd Dec
In the latest bid, we have the Department of Mathematics of the Nagpur University now known as the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University to be organizing the National Mathematics Day on this 23rd December. This is done for spreading the message of the importance of Mathematics in our society and the application it has among the students. This program would be held in collaboration with the group called the National Council for Science and Technology Commission, which is organized under the Department of Science and Technology of the government of India along with the RGSTCM (Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission of Maharashtra).
As per reports, the day celebrated would also talk about the contribution of Shrinivasa Ramanujan all across the global Mathematics fraternity. Also, the day would have a keynote speech on this big day which would be offered by Mr. SB Nimse the former vice-chancellor of Lucknow University and SRTM University, Nanded.
The other speakers invited in the said event include Vijay M Kare who is the senior police inspector at Ambazari Police Station, Nagpur. Besides the two, the others who are likely to join the program would include Dr.Anuradha Devi, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Royal Group of Institutions, Guwahati as the Chairman along with the Vice-Chancellor Dr.SP Kane will be unleashing the portrait of the Srinivasa Ramanujan. During the said event, the university will arrange popular talks and seminar competition for students particularly the postgraduate students of Mathematics will be conducted.
