Nagpur’s first Amrit Sarovar to be built in Katol
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was about to attend this entire ceremony, but when he left the house, his health had deteriorated at that time.
Nagpur: Bharatiya Janata Party MLC Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Maharashtra animal husbandry minister Sunil Kedar laid the foundation stone of the first Amrit Sarovar of district Nagpur at Mendhepathar in Katol on Saturday.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was about to attend this entire ceremony, but when he left the house, his health had deteriorated at that time. MP Krupal Tumane and Vikas Mahatme, Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis, MLA Sameer Meghe, guardian minister Nitin Raut, and MLCs Nago Ganar, Pravin Date, and Abhijit Wanjari among many other dignitaries also did not attend the event at all.
Launched as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ by PM Narendra Modi during his own visit to Jammu and Kashmir the Amrit Sarovar initiative aims to revive, develop and rejuvenate around 50 lakh water bodies across the country. Along with this, about 75 water bodies will be covered in every district of the entire country under this initiative to once again fill the falling groundwater level.
NHAI officials to pay attention to the rural roads
Appreciating Nitin Gadkari’s efforts for starting initiatives like Amrit Sarovar in district Nagpur, Kedar said that water conservation is the need of the hour. He has said that he has had a very busy day, But only because Nitin Gadkari had invited him, he had also decided to visit the venue.
Along with this, Kedar has also asked the NHAI officials to pay attention to the rural roads damaged due to the movement of very heavy vehicles to carry the gravel for the construction of the road. He said that Nitin Gadkari is making absolutely best efforts to develop facilities for the citizens and he must also support his own efforts across party lines.
Bharatiya Janata Party MLC Chandrashekhar Bawankule has said that only after Nitin Gadkari gets well, he will come to inspect the lake. And he also asked the Union Minister to start the Buldhana pattern. And also gave full credit for making the tanker-free district by removing the silt from the rivers. Along with this, the contractor who had earlier silted the river also had to pay a very heavy royalty. When Devendra Fadnavis was the Chief Minister, it was Nitin Gadkari who pointed it out to him. Even then he had completely repealed the royalty clause and paved the way for the siltation of rivers. Nitin Gadkari and Fadnavis had started all the development works during their rule. In the last almost two years, Maha Vikas Aghadi has not brought a single big project at all.
