Nirbhaya Culprits To be Hanged Soon in the National Capital
The infamous case of the Nirbhaya rape and murder case of 2012 has remained in the news for long. For her parents, it has been a long wait to see the culprits getting hanged. But it seems that they have to wait a bit more as the Delhi Court has pushed the date of execution a little later this month. As per reports, the Patiala House Court while hearing the plea filed by Pawan Kumar Gupta, one of the convicts of the said case has asked to stay execution with his mercy petition before the President on Monday.
As per reports, the Additional Session Judge Dharmender Rana was seen deferring the hearing till further orders. Earlier, we have seen the same judge slamming the convict’s lawyer to file the Mercy Petition so late. Earlier a similar petition was filed in the Supreme Court but it was rejected a day before yesterday for the convicts including Akshay Kumar Singh and Pawan Kumar. Now, the convict’s lawyer has gone to President asking him for the mercy petition.
AP Singh the lawyer of Pawan has now filed a mercy petition asking a stay on the death penalty to the President of India. The court then ordered a deferment after hearing the argument of the culprit’s lawyer. However, the judge used harsh words to make aware of the case saying that Mr. SIngh is playing with fire and he needs to be cautious about it. He further said that any wrong, in this case, would lead to disaster. The blame game has been moving along from one court to the other but now it seems that we need to wait a few more days to see the culprits getting hanged.
