NMC is Still to Sign Agreement with BVG India & AG Enviro for Garbage Lifting
The city has witnessed a key change when it comes to changing the company that has been taking care of the garbage collection activity in Nagpur for years. The civic body, NMC has brought down the deal with Kanak group, which has been doing the same for decades to give the contract two new groups called BVG India and AG Enviro. Both the companies have taken over the garbage activity since past a month and have been doing things as per their own systems.
However, amidst the mess, they have created in the early days and other things, we now hear that the civic body is yet to sign the agreement with the two companies. Yes, you have heard it right. The NMC Commissioner Mr. Abhijit Bangar has admitted in a special General Body Meeting stating that it is yet to sign a formal agreement with the two companies as yet. There is no formal singing agreement has been done between the civic body and the two companies.
The city mayor Mr. Joshi while heading the meeting with the NMC and others questioned the lapse carried out by the NMC chief with the two firms. Josh said to make an agreement fast and get it signed before 20th December and present the same in the next meeting, which is supposed to be called on 30th December. It is important to note that the civic body ended the contract of the previous company and awarded the work to the two said firms on 11th September. However, the new firms started their work from 15th November and the formal agreement is yet to be signed.
