After the women began to reiterate their demand that the police officer there allow sex work. And also removes the restriction on engaging all customers. The ‘Diwali Milan’ program had to be wrapped up in a hurry.

Disha Patil Sub-Inspector once again visited Ganga Jamuna with many festive gifts to be distributed among sex workers and children of sex workers. Many women stayed away and many sex workers came forward to accept those gifts on Wednesday.

Nutan Rewatkar social worker was also with the sub-inspector Disha. It is said that the police officers had given this donation from their pocket for arranging ration kits and new clothes.

In the same year, from the date of August 11, CP Amitesh Kumar had completely banned commercial sex work in Ganga Jamuna. Due to which the livelihood of about 2,000-3,000 sex workers working there has been questioned.

This big decision has to face strong opposition from the 1st section of the workers. Who is doing a lot of fighting for these struggling sex workers.

Women Didn’t Take Anything From Police

On Tuesday, the police of Lakarganj had organized this program to distribute ration, saris and many other gifts to the women and the children of those women.

As soon as this program started. Then the 1st section of sex workers started protesting vigorously demanding the removal of the ban except for senior police officers like zonal DCP Lohit Matani, senior inspector Parag Pote, CP Navinchandra Reddy, and others.

One sex worker has said that the police officers keeping us away from this livelihood for the last 3 months and then now giving us this festive gift cannot justify their action at all. she has said that almost most of the women have taken nothing from the gifts given by the police. Many people have accepted it, But they are not at all from our core group. Which is completely united against the action of the police.

According to an eyewitness, several children accepted gifts they had received from the police. But then later those gifts were returned when the mothers of the children came to know about it.

Senior Inspector Parag of Lakadganj police station has completely denied any strong protest. Parag has said that only many women had protested against the police officers. But most had deliberately accepted our gifts completely. In the end, the police had run out of ration kits and gifts. And now there are plans to distribute it once again. So that more and more women and children of those women can be reached.

Adding several women was inciting too much of others against the police officers. But the majority was completely in our favor.
