Pollution caused by firecrackers can adversely affect health of recovered covid: Doctors

Nagpur: Diwali firecrackers can have adverse health effects for people recovering from coronavirus, doctors have warned. The lungs of people who have been cured of covid have already been scorched by this disease. And now coming in contact with this toxic smoke of firecrackers can have very serious consequences.

According to Dr. Sameer Arbat Interventional Pulmonologist, all the people who have got covid. They are at great risk from air hazard pollution caused by firecrackers burning on Diwali.

Dr. Sameer Arbat has also said that in most patients suffering from covid, lung function is greatly reduced or there is a decrease in those people. Particulate matter and other volatile organic compounds increase significantly in the ambient air during Diwali. And then on coming in contact with it, those recovering from coronavirus can have difficulty in breathing, cough and very serious respiratory diseases.

Citing a recent study that found that sulfur dioxide levels during the 3 days following Diwali were only about 200 times higher than the given safe permissible limits, chief pulmonologist and secretary of the Indian Chest Society.

Firecrackers Contain Charcoal

Dr Rajesh Swarnakar has said that there are many harmful air pollutants and gaseous substances like ozone, sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide inside the firecrackers. Crackers irritate the lining of the respiratory tract, leading to excessive sputum production, coughing, as well as swelling of the air pipe. It has become especially dangerous not only for allergy and asthma patients but also for patients who have been cured of the covid disease. It is very wise that when the smog of firecrackers persists in the air, then these patients stay in that house.

Dr. Rajesh has also said that these dangerous firecrackers also contain charcoal to burn the fine particles of PM 2.5. Which gets into the deep tissues of the human lungs and even into the blood circulation. By burning 1 flower, pomegranate produces the smoke equivalent to about 200 cigarettes.

Experts also believe that the adoption of electronic firecrackers is a much healthier way.

He has also said that they are still available in the entire market and make light and sound just like these crackers. But dangerous smoke does not leave at all.

Suggesting that the festival of Diwali is a great opportunity to completely overcome the stress of the pandemic. Dr. Sameer has also said that all people should not risk their body’s health at all at the cost of Diwali celebrations. It has also been said that in the last year it was seen that many coronavirus patients are now facing a lot of difficulty due to air pollution caused by these dangerous firecrackers. And now they need to take all kinds of precautions to stay absolutely healthy.
