No second jab, 250 NMC employees no salary

Nagpur: The NMC (Nagpur Municipal Corporation) has identified about 250 employees. Those who have not yet taken their second shot of the coronavirus vaccine despite being eligible. “Nagpur Municipal Corporation is going to withhold their salaries for the month of November to be paid in the month of December,” said Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B.

Ram Joshi Additional Municipal Commissioner has said that there are around 10,582 Nagpur Municipal Corporation employees in various departments and about 99% of those employees have taken their first dose of covid. He has also said that only 32 pregnant and medically ill workers are yet to be vaccinated against Covid.

He has also said that in 1-2 days 1 official circular to stop the salary of non-vaccinated employees will be issued. And then they will release their salary only after they produce the certificates of both the doses of covid vaccine.

Unvaccinated Government Employees

Earlier this month, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation and district collector Vimla R issued a circular making COVID vaccination completely mandatory for entry into government establishments. And in both the circulars, instructions had also been given to stop the salaries of government employees who were vaccinated without covid.

Sources have also said that the municipal administration has come to know that many Nagpur Municipal Corporation employees have not taken their second dose of covid at all even after a gap of about 84 days.

Sources have said that they had issued instructions to them to take the covid vaccine without any delay. And even all employees without covid vaccination were also suggested by the administration to take Covaxin because there is also a gap of 1 month for the second dose of covid.

Ram has said that those who have been vaccinated with the first dose of covid and have not yet completed about 84 days, as is very much required for the covidshield jab, will be exempted from this order.

However, the civic chief has expressed satisfaction over the number of people all vaccinated against covid in this city. And he has appealed to all the citizens to do their jobs before the end of the month of November because after that the vaccination of coronavirus will not be provided free of cost at all.
