State started ‘Sakhi Savitri’ campaign for the safety of students

Nagpur: The state government has recently issued a circular announcing the launch of a campaign in the name of Sakhi Savitri. Whose real focus will be on saving school-going students from abuse and bringing them back to the most mainstream of education.
While there are other aspects to this initiative as well, It mostly revolves around making sure that Children should not face any physical, social, or mental problems while exercising their right to be educated.
From school to taluka level, only Sakhi Savitri committees will be formed. At the school level, the committee will be headed by the Chairman of the SMC. Simultaneously, at the taluka level, the same committee will be headed either by the Block Education Officer or by the Administrative Officer in charge of the department.
The school-level committee has been assigned the task of visiting every household in the villages to ensure that all children are enrolled in the school. It has also been said in the circular of the state government that the epidemic of covid has negatively affected the education of students, Especially their parents whose parents had to relocate due to financial reasons.
National Commission for Protection of Child Rights
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan Coordinator K Changdeo Sorte has this to say, They will also take out dance rallies in villages to create awareness about entering schools. They will dance and sing to grab everyone’s attention.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has written to the District Collector seeking action against a school for alleged child labour. Images of school children picking up bricks at a rural school in Nagpur district also surfaced on social media platforms. Education activist Shahid Sharif had lodged a complaint with National Commission For Protection of Child Rights on March 8. Sharif also says that he has also identified a school in village Umbergaon, But the education department is not taking any action at all. National Commission For Protection of Child Rights has asked the collector to reply in about 10 days.
