Two arrested with banned tobacco in Nagpur
In another raid, police has arrested two people for keeping the banned tobacco. The Social Security Branch (SSB) of city Crime Branch carried out the raid on Wednesday at AMS Transport with the help of Wadi Police. The two accused have been identified and arrested and the banned tobacco has been seized. The scented and banned tobacco amounts to a total of Rs 75 lakh.
The two accused have been identified as Mahendrasingh Rokampalsingh Baghel, aged 22 years who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh and Ajay Mohanrao Sontakke, aged 40 years who is a resident of Dabha Road, Wadi. A truck has also been seized numbered MH-40/BL-2421. The SSB had got the information about storage of banned and scented tobacco, which is illegal. The SSB squad had PI Kishor Parvate (heading the squad), API Atul Ingole, and the constables Praveen Fadnde, Manojsingh Chauhan, Sadhna Raut and Chaya Raut. They reached the godown of AMS transport.
Hot premium pan masala was found in the godown. The godown also had about 208 sacks of H-5 premium chewing tobacco that was stored by the two accused. The man behind the whole planning of the raid was Additional Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police. Dr Nilesh Bharne and Gajanan Rajmane are the Additional Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police. Everything was planned under their able guidance to catch the accused, red-handed. The accused were illegally storing the banned and scented tobacco, as per the information obtained. Further investigations are on in regard to this case.
