Nagpur: The city’s police have decided to form a local body called ‘Traffic Advisory Council’ involving citizens to improve traffic management and curb jams.

Altogether, about 38 places have been identified in the city from where these police-people coordination committees or councils will be formed. These bodies are supposed to give suggestions according to local needs, act as volunteers and also play the role of police-public interface.
As the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) gears up for the G20 summit by ramping up road repair works, The city police aim to streamline the traffic flow very quickly and clear the bottlenecks and congestion points.
The CP also said, “We are adopting a zero-tolerance policy towards triple-seat driving, not wearing helmets or seat belts, and even using tinted windows.”

The top police officer also said that there will be a lot of focus on action against wrong-side driving and the use of fancy number plates.
Amitesh Kumar has also said that two e-challan printing machines have been provided to every police station. The CP also said, “Police station and traffic wing will join hands to take action.”
