A whopping 3.51 Cr fine still pending at RTO Nagpur
The current month has witnessed an incredible hike in the Traffic Challan amounts, all thanks to the newly drafted amendment bill for the Motor Vehicles in India, we see the Nagpur RTO reporting a whopping 3.51 Crs of amount pending against the traffic violators in the city. Yes, you heard it right, the said amount is reported for the time period of 8th Feb 2019 to 11th September 2019. The same reports suggest that a total of 4.71 was recovered, while 3.51 crores is still pending.
Following the e-challans under the one state one challan movement that was implemented in this year, the traffic police have issued a total 248273 challans, whcih cost you around 8.23 Crores. The areas that were covered include Ajni, Cotton Market, Sadar, Indora, Kamptee Road, MIDC, Lakadganj, Sakardara, Sonegaon, and others. However, the whopping 3.51 crores are still pending, which speaks a lot about the competence of the local RTO department dealing with challans.
On the other side, we have seen a higher number of violations last year, which went to almost the double. The challans follow the same old traditional system of post that reaches late or even go astray in the postal department. The others lose for the reason as the receivers have given older addresses on their RC and similar other reasons. These are some of the key reasons why the amount of challans remain pending. The RTO has also put an app to check the challan, which can be downloaded and checked for the challans on your registered vehicles.
