In the recent COVID -19 outbreak, diagnosing has become a big problem for the deadly virus. While carrying out the diagnosis for the virus with the help of checking the sample of throat secretions, the doctors are often confused about the status of the virus. This has kept the doctors and medical team at bay for carrying out the required test for the same. But thanks to the city Dr. Vikas Mahatme who has developed a device called STOP Corona.
He was the man who embarked on this idea along with giving donations and his personal cabin for the same. The real work on the ground was carried out by the team of doctors including Dr. Parikshit Mahajan & Dr. Anantsingh Rajput of the city known hospital Aureus Institute of Medical Sciences, which is a state of art multispeciality Hospital, in Nagpur. The gadget will be soon be donated to the GMC Doctors so that they can start using it immediately.
As per reports, Dr. Avinash Gawande the Medical Superintendent accepted it on behalf of GMC, Nagpur to start using the same to deal with the COVID 19 cases in the city. Of late, there has been an increase in the number of cases in the state as the total number of figures have gone up to 2000 tolling highest in the country. This has further extended the lockdown in the state as decided by the PM after consulting the state heads. Amidst this grim situation, taking up the device will be a ray of hope for the doctors dealing with the same.
