Before getting license, assess your driving skills on simulators

Deputy Transport Commissioner Dinkar Manwar has stated that it will not be mandatory in any way for a person to pass the test of the simulator in order to proceed towards the final driving test.

Nagpur: Now applicants for permanent all 4 wheeler driving license can very soon also test their own driving skills on 1 simulator. Thanks to the Transport Department of Maharashtra, all 3 Regional Transport Offices – Rural RTO, City, and Deputy RTO East – will each receive 2 simulators.

Deputy Transport Commissioner whose name is Dinkar Manwar has stated that it will not be mandatory in any way for a person to pass the test of the simulator in order to proceed towards the final driving test.

Now before sitting in the final exam of this simulator, first of all, the license seekers will help a lot in evaluating their own driving skills. And Dinkar has also said that it will also provide training to these applicants on various aspects like basic driving skills on this road, obeying traffic signals, using turning, speed limit, brake, steering, accelerator, and clutch. This training will also be very useful for the applicants to learn how they should drive on these different roads. Regarding this movement of pedestrians in-between times like very busy times and other important road safety aspects.

Asked to identify the place

Apart from these 3 RTOs, about 13 more offices in these states will also get 2 simulators. Similarly, around 33 offices including Gondia, Yavatmal, Bhandara Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli, will also get a 1-1 simulator.

Now the department is also procuring about 65 simulators from Hyderabad based firms at a cost of about Rs 3.90 crores.

Dinkar has also said that each Deputy RTO and RTO have been asked to identify the place to install these simulators in their respective offices. This simulator will be fully operational within about 2 months.

He has also said that in addition to this, nodal officers of about 50 offices across the state have also been selected to conduct a very special training programme.

This step is also a part of the road safety initiative adopted by this state government. The figures of road accidents in this city had also come out that the involvement of four wheelers has increased a few times.
