The most awaited assurance on CAA by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra

The meeting between the Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray and Narendra Modi has come a big relief, with the CM stating that nobody must be afraid of Citizenship Amendment Act and National Population Register. He said that it won’t affect any citizen of the country and nobody would be thrown out from the country. The statement was made after Maharashtra Chief Minister met the PM in New Delhi on Friday. This was Thackeray’s first meeting with the PM after taking over the charge of Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

The political party Shiv Sena was a part of the National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janata Party earlier but then formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government with the Nationalist Congress Party and Congress. This alliance was formed after BJP and Shiv Sena parted their ways. The CM had a discussion with the Prime Minister over certain issues in Maharashtra which also involved the CAA, NPR and NRC. However, CM was assured by Narendra Modi that nobody should fear CAA and NPR as nobody will be thrown out of the country.

The rumours spreading about the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government were rubber off after Thackeray stated that the government will complete its five year term. Meanwhile, NCP and the Congress Party are little worried after the statement of the CM regarding CAA and NPR. Uddhav Thackeray further added that Prime Minister has given assurance that there will be full cooperation from his side to the Maharashtra Government and he will extend a hand, whenever they need.
