IIM Nagpur welcomes its first batch of Senior Management Programme (SMP)
The participants in IIM Nagpur's SMP come from over 110 companies and have an average work experience of 18 years
Shri. C P Gurnani, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIM Nagpur, and MD & CEO of Tech Mahindra, inaugurated the first batch of the Senior Management Programme (SMP) on August 29, 2021. The SMP at IIM Nagpur was heavily oversubscribed, with 125 participants.
The participants in IIM Nagpur’s SMP come from over 110 companies and have an average work experience of 18 years. As a result, the SMP at IIM Nagpur is the best in class among all leading Indian B-Schools.
During his inauguration speech, Shri. C P Gurnani thanked the participants for their commitment to continually improving their skills and competencies. To be successful, he stressed the importance of balancing academic learning and practical work experience. Gurnani, one of the industry’s many successful turnaround leaders, encouraged attendees to be Manager-Entrepreneurs and leaders.
He also informed the participants that the program would help them defend the status quo and stay relevant in today’s world.
Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, discussed IIM Nagpur’s current and future plans, including various degree and Ph.D. programs, as well as the Executive Education Program offered by IIM Nagpur, which includes a satellite campus in Pune. Dr. Metri inspired the participants to learn, unlearn, and relearn all through their lives to be successful in highly changing and competitive environments.
Dr. Atul Arun Pathak, Executive Education & Programme Director and Chairperson, of SMP, emphasized the program’s key distinguishing features, which include Chamber Consulting, industry speaker series, and townhalls.
He compelled participants to take advantage of the academic quality, networking, and growth potential provided by the SMP program.
