Lock Upp: Payal Rohatgi apologizes to Indian Muslims for calling Zeeshan Khan a terrorist

Days after making derogatory remarks against Lock Upp co-contestant Zeeshan Khan, Payal Rohatgi has apologized to all Indian Muslims. Earlier this week, Payal allegedly branded Zeeshan Khan as a terrorist in the midst of a fight, Kangana Ranaut is the host of the ongoing reality show Lock Upp.

Then as soon as host Kangana Ranaut told her that she was completely safe from eviction, Payal went to the camera and apologized to the Muslims of India. After Nisha Rawal got out of lock upp… Payal told the camera that, Namaste mai hu Payal Rohatgi, Mai sbhi se hath jod ke maafi mangti hu agar kisi ki bhawnaon ko maine hurt kiya. Ek community ki bhawnaon ko agar maine hurt kiya (I am Payal Rohatgi and I want to apologize with folded hands, if I have hurt anyone’s sentiments or if I have hurt the sentiments of any particular community) I am really sorry. I request you not to make any issue out of it. I hope it ends with this show.

He also said that, To haath jod k, jin bhartiya musalmano ko laga ki maine unke bhawnao ko thes pahunchayi hai ek statement se to uske liye mai mafi chahti hu (With folded hands, I apologize to those Indian Muslims who may have been hurt by one of my statements).

It all started when the lock upp news flash kick-started a lot of debate among the contestants on whether Halal meat should be banned. Then later Zeeshan Khan intervened when Rohatgi was fighting a lot with Mandana Karimi and Payal got angry. She told him not to spit on him before spitting on him and walking away. Then after this, he claimed that Zeeshan Khan had already spit on him. She also called it disgusting and then said, After all, how can you promote halal meat? before allegedly labeling him as a terrorist. The wording was muted on this show. Khan then asks Rohatgi to get her lawyer ready as she has taken it to another level.
