Nagpur Book Club Feb Meet Called a Meeting with Art, Literature, stimulating intellectual Discussion
Books are considered to be the best friend and the city-based group Nagpur Book Club offers the people of our city to make them as your good friend. This time it was organized in a cool environment of Sonal Jain’s beautiful art studio based at the Guman Building located at the heart of the city in Sadar. For the bibliophile, it was not less than a heaven on earth in the city.
The NBC Feb Meeting had some cool books to review and discuss. The session kicked off with the book called Boundaries by John Townsend where the author has talked about the importance of having clear boundaries required to have a balanced and healthy lifestyle in any kind of relationship. This sparked off a spirited discussion that people talked about. This was followed by Piya Gabjbe who talked about Anita Desai’s book Fasting Feasting a novel which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. It talks about the suburban Indian people found in family relationships.
Next was Dinesh Dhawane who impressed the movie lovers taking them to the memory lane as he discussed the biography of Guru Dutt by the author Nasreen Munni Kabir. The biography “Guru Dutt: A Life in Cinema” traces the life and works of the legendary filmmaker. The other books discussed in the meet include “Crusader or Conspirator? Coalgate and other Truths” by Vijay Barange, “Man’s Search for Meaning” by the host Sonal Jain, ‘Three Thousand Stitches’ by Reshma Notani and the Founder member of NBC Dr. Tejinder Singh Rawal later discussed some thought-provoking books! The meet was attended by a good number of avid readers from the city.
