Nagpur Happy Streets Gets Citizen Engagement Initiative Award
Its time for the Nagpur people to celebrate as one of the prominent events in the city organized on Sundays called Happy Street has bagged the citizen engagement initiative award. Yes, you heard it right, the event carried out only on Sundays and organized by the Times Group seems to be making headlines since long it started that helped it being applauded in the media. The award was given in the said category by the Ready 2 Innovate World Wide.
The award was given by city mayor Sandip Joshi and Karlsruhe from Germany who has been the mayor of Frank Mentrup together had presented the award at the award function organized at Civil Lines in Nagpur. The award was given by the NGO cum Private Company called R2iW which gives away awards to different groups and organizations carrying out such programs and initiatives.
The event is organized four times a month and happens only on Sunday. This year it started on 12th Jan and continued till the last week of Jan. It is likely to resume this Sunday. The stretch of the road from Law College square to Laxmi Bhuvan Square witnesses the event where more than 20,000 people are seen turning up every Sunday in the said event. Many activities ranging from yoga to skating, fitness programs and musical shows are arranged for the people to participate and have a good time. The Happy Streets is organized in association with various groups in city like NNC, Nagpur First, NEERI, IEEE Nagpur and Smart City SPV to name a few.
