The City has always had an issue with public transport. However, with the advent of Aapli Buses plying on the roads, there seemed to have come as a ray of hope in many ways as they catered to the growing need of the same. However, it seems that the Aapli Buses too are facing a bad time when it comes to giving them proper maintenance. Considering the plight of the buses, the Aapli buses seems to be faltering on the maintenance part that has made the NMC charge the fine of Rs 15 lakh. At the same time, the two lakhs were also imposed on the group called DIMTS for the failure to make sure, which city buses are seen kept in the proper order just to make the citizens have a good time. The buses have acted as per the directives of Narendra Borkar, Chairperson, Transport Department, NMC.
He along with the other civic officials carried out the checks of city buses along with imposing the huge fines on the operators that have helped ensure that the buses, which are seen keeping in the proper condition. Several shortcomings came to the notice regarding the checks and balances on Friday last. The fines were seen imposed for the violation of contract conditions.
