Nagpur Poors Facing Issues at the Ration Shop
The current lockdown in the city has created a big mess in the lives of the poor and the needy people from the downtrodden sections of the society. As they earn on a daily basis and invest in their food and other basic requirements, they are among the losers at the moment with no work and money. Considering their pitiable conditions, the state government has announced a three-month ration to be picked up at the ration vendors and stores. But when the vendors were approached by these people they were denied about the same.
As per the activists of various NGOs who have been working in this area, most of the ration vendors and shops are denying the allocated ration to the orange color ration cardholders. All the BPL cardholders are facing a similar issue as they are not able to get the required ration on time and they are being misled by the ration shops. As per reports, the ration vendors are involved in black marketing of the ration which they have been getting from the state government department.
The various NGOs active on the ground include MPJ, the AAP Social Cell, and Healing Touch can see to see the poor and BPL Cardholders getting only half of the allocated food grain to them. Many of the activists and NGOs are asking for free ration for the poor as it is missing on the ground. They claim that as per the PM Modi’s announcement there is no free ration for the BPL cardholders at the ground. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
