NMC tests 81 passengers from Sharjah, none found +ve
As per the government protocol, these passengers were also asked to undergo an RT-PCR test on arrival by around 7 pm.
Nagpur: NMC (Nagpur Municipal Corporation) had tests 81 passengers who had arrived from Sharjah on Sunday morning. Not even a single passenger among them was positive for coronavirus. And international flight has started once again after a gap of almost 10 months.
As per the government protocol, these passengers were also asked to undergo an RT-PCR test on arrival by around 7 pm. Sharjah is not at all among those ‘at risk’ destinations that include Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
Ram Joshi, Additional Commissioner, has also visited the airport to oversee the screening.
The Chief Medical Officer of Nagpur Municipal Corporation whose name is Dr. Sanjay Chilkar. He has said that all 81 passengers tested were coronavirus negative. The remaining 14 passengers were children. It has been stated that each of the eligible passengers was vaccinated against COVID and as per Sharjah norms, RT-PCR negative report was taken 6 hours before departure.
MLA Hostel CCC
The swabs were collected in about 50 lots and the results were distributed in about 2 hours.
Most of the passengers had waited at the airport till the result was out. And Chilkar has also said that 10 passengers have also agreed to go to MLA Hostel, Where the civic body has started the Covid Care Center (CCC) once again. And even after the Nagpur Municipal Corporation team led by Dr. Vijay Joshi took their contact and address details, each and every passenger has been allowed to go home.
Sanjay has said that these passengers will also be monitored at the zonal level. The teams will also visit him on the third, fifth and seventh day of arrival. If symptoms are seen in anyone, then they will be tested again. Those found to be covid positive will be shifted to MLA Hostel Covid Care Center.
District Collector R Vimala has appointed Dr. Nitin Gulhane as the nodal officer of MLA Hostel Covid Care Center. And Dr. Nitin is also in charge of this facility since March 2020.
He has also said that medical teams and paramedical staff have also been deployed at the airport in 6 shifts. And the paramedical staff has also collected the travel history of these passengers for the last 15 days.
Sanjay has also said that the next flight is scheduled for Tuesday morning from Sharjah.
