Days like Republic Day and I Day have been always the junctures to celebrate the spirit of democracy and have good time showcasing zealousness and love for the country. However, this day ironically has also give motorists and young people to violate traffic rules in the city. Like always, 2020 was not an exception as the city was reported with not less than 616 cases of violations on the roads and people were fined by the traffic cops for breaking the rules on this day.
Many were booked for riding triple on the bike along with no helmets, jumping red lights, and doing similar things over the streets of Nagpur. The police informed that 47 cases of drink and drive were reports on the Republic Day this year and people found guilty were fined for the same. As per the police, the intercepted around 1600 vehicles mostly the bikes and found the said number of violations on the same day.
A maximum number of cases of 127 were registered on this big day followed by 92 in Ajni and 87 in Sadar and Sitabuldi zone of around 78 were reported. The traffic police were able to nab mostly the youngsters who were seen violating the law and taking things in their hand. The other areas that remained on the higher side for the gross violations include at Wardhaman Nagar, Futala Lake area and Ambazari T Point. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
