Scented tobacco LCB busted, huge cache seized

Chandrapur: A local crime branch team busted a godown laden with illegal flavored tobacco at MIDC in Chandrapur district on Thursday. And the owner of the warehouse has also been arrested. At the time of the raid, the police have seized about the 200 kg of flavored tobacco worth up to Rs 4.20 lakh from the godown.
Official sources also said that the police officials had received information about this tobacco godown in the area of MIDC on the outskirts of the city. Where the illegal tobacco vendors had kept this stock in the warehouse.
SP whose name is Arvind Salve. He handed over all the responsibility of the exposing this nexus of tobacco smugglers and vendors to the LCB in-charge PI Balasaheb Khade. He has a PSI whose name is Sandeep Kapade. A team under his leadership was sent to raid this illegal tobacco godown of plot no. 68 of the Chandrapur city MIDC.
Collectively worth Rs 4.20 lakh
The team of this raid thoroughly searched the warehouse of illegal tobacco and recovered a huge quantity of illegal flavored tobacco. The recovered items also included about the 196 kg of flavored tobacco packed inside 49 bags of about four kg each. MAJA contains approximately 19 packets of 108 scented tobacco and about the 400 packets of VN scented tobacco.
All of these collectively cost around Rs 4.20 lakh. The LCB also gave complete information about this matter to the Food and Drug Authority and called its team to the spot at the same time.
In this regard, the accused owner of the illegal tobacco godown whose name is Washim Jimri. He has been arrested. And an offense has been registered against the accused owner Washim Jimri under the relevant section of the law.
