State Government to Launch World’s largest convalescent plasma therapy trial ‘Project PLATINA’
As the world fights the pandemic, we see some good steps being announced by the CM Mr. Uddhav Thackeray. They have decided to come out with the venture called ‘Project Platina’ – which remains the World’s largest convalescent plasma therapy trial for the COVID-19 patients. The Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was seen inaugurating the same. Talking about the venture, it will be a prototype venture which deals with fixing the severe COVID 19 patients as launched by the Medical Education and Drugs Department Maharashtra.
With this, the patients would be getting competitive data about the role of convalescent plasma when it comes to treating the COVID 19 patients, which would help in giving away the guidelines in managing the pandemic. With this trial, the patients will get the chance to get good support for the same. Talking about the same trial working in Nagpur, all the government based hospitals will be carried out.
As per the news published in The Nagpur Live, In the state, we would see around 17 Medical Colleges from the state along with the ones falling under the Medical Education and Drugs Department Maharashtra and the four Medical Colleges of BMC in Mumbai will get the opportunity to serve. The state has decided to offer the medical services for free. One can see a wide range of donors who have come forward in the state with plasma donation. This has made the state decide the same.
