Worth Rs 8.85 lakh Restricted tobacco seized from milk container, owner absconding

Police have said that the consignment was allegedly purchased from a trader in Chhindwara and now it was identified as Farooq by Vijay Jethani, owner of Vijay Traders.

Nagpur: Flavored tobacco worth up to Rs. 8.85 lakh has been confiscated by Jaripatka police after intercepting a milk container from CMPDI Road on Sunday. The (FDA) Food and Drug Administration has now also collected samples for the confiscated consignment in a government laboratory to be tested.

The police have said that the consignment was allegedly purchased from a trader in Chhindwara. And now it was identified as Farooq by Vijay Jethani, owner of Vijay Traders. Who has now been made an accused in all these cases.

Senior Inspector of Jaripatka Police Station named Vaibhav Jadhav. He has said that the driver of the vehicle whose name is Kishan Tandekar. He has now been taken into custody. While Jethani who is its owner is absconding since the action. Jadhav has also said that these sacks of flavored and flavored tobacco were being kept on the back side of the milk crate. We stopped this vehicle after specific information.

The action is headed by Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) named Manish Kalwaniya. And the ACP whose name is Roshan Pandit has done that. Which was also being monitored by CP Amitesh Kumar.

Vaibhav has further said that we have also included the name of Chhindwara supplier Farooq in the FIR against these rackets. There are also previous records against Vijay after the crime branch seized Vijay consignment several days ago.

According to an insider, Vijay and other tobacco kingpins of the city like Bharat, Niraj and Anil were buying all that flavored tobacco from Chhindwara and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh. Where suppliers like Farooq and Shankar were also providing them consignments up to crores of rupees. To avoid this barrier, all these consignments are carried in carrier vehicles behind sacks of grains, spices, etc.

Apart from Nagpur district, it has also been learned that Yavatmal district has also become a center of flavored tobacco due to its proximity to Madhya Pradesh.
