Teenage boy kills woman for protesting sexual harassment in Nagpur rural

A 25-year-old married woman was strangled to death by a teenage boy for protesting sexual harassment by him on Tuesday afternoon in Nagpur Rural Police jurisdiction.

The accused has been identified as Amlesh Kumar Shambhu Mandal. And he was working in a cement pipe manufacturing unit on Savargaon Road in Dongargaon of Katol police station area.

According to the police, the parents of this deceased woman also work inside the same unit. The 25-year old married woman, who had come from Seoni (MP) to visit her parents, was alone inside her hut in Siraswadi area. He entered the hut around 4.30 pm and allegedly tried to sexually assault a 25-year old married woman.

However, when the 25-year old married woman protested and shouted for help, the accused strangled the woman to death.

Nail marks on his neck

The police have found that before the murder and assault. Accused Amlesh Kumar Shambhu Mandal was viewing porn sites in his cell phone. And this phone of the accused has also been confiscated by the police and has been sent for forensic examination.

Nail marks have been found on the neck of the victim woman. Along with bite marks on the lips of the woman, marks of violent sexual assault have also been found.

Katol police arrested the accused Amlesh Kumar Shambhu Mandal on the basis of CCTV camera footage from the factory premises. When Amlesh Kumar Shambhu Mandal was rounded up, the accused was sleeping inside his room near the cement factory.

The CCTV camera footage showed that the accused mandal entered the victim’s hut. And when the woman tries to run away, the woman is dragged inside the hut and is also shown dragging.

Katol police have registered a case against the accused under sections 354, 354 (b) and 302 of the Indian Penal Code. And the accused has been put behind the bars. And a detailed investigation is being done against the accused.
