Yami Gautam is currently shooting for her upcoming film Dasvi in Agra alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Gautam is playing the role of a Haryanvi IPS officer in the movie. Only recently she also got done with her shoot for another film Bhoot Police. The movie features Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles. A few days ago, in an interview with the Bombay Times, Yami talked about the hit and run accident that left her with a permanent neck injury. Reminiscing about the incident, Yami narrates that it happened one morning when she was heading to the university in Chandigarh.
Yami iterates that on that particular morning she was out on her way to the university. While she was on the highway, a car signaled for turning right but instead turned left. This resulted in the car knocking her down two-wheeler down. Despite crashing Gautam’s vehicle, the driver did not stop and moreover sped up. The event took place in such a brief moment that could not even register it. Yami said she was in such a state that another vehicle could have easily run over her. However, a car stopped by and came to her rescue. She was gladly wearing a helmet and winter clothes that helped her prevent external scratches and bruises.
Gautam however, was left with an internal injury on her neck. She had a fracture and the doctors had said she would never be able to work out anymore. It shattered Yami as she was an aspiring IAS officer. Years later now, the injury sometimes resurfaces but with Yoga, she is working on it. The routine and lifestyle that she has, makes it nearly impossible for Yami to absolutely cut down on working out.
