“Yeh nahi ki TRP ke liye kuch bhi khelo”: Shots fired by Salman Khan at Arnab Goswami

Amidst the ongoing TRP scam linked with Republic TV, Salman Khan very slyly obtained his personal redemption. Republic’s coverage on Sushant Singh Rajput’s murder case gave rise to many controversies and questions. The channel was heavily criticized for “unethical” and “depraved” reporting by many. In fact, a civil suit has been filed by 38 production houses and film bodies in the Delhi High Court against Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami and journalist Pradeep Bhandari seeking restrain. Republic has not left any stone unturned to cause its own downfall. Arnab Goswami had openly called Salman out about his silence on the SSR case. “Kahan hai Salman Khan? Bolti band kyun? Chup kyun ho Salman? Kiss sheher mein ho tum? Kiss desh mein ho tum? Bigg Boss dialogue chahiye haath mein, usko padhoge ratta maar ke,” Goswami had said.

Salman Khan, however, took an indirect jibe at Arnab Goswami and his channel on Bigg Boss 14’s weekend ka vaar. He said “Bigg Boss ke andar ya kisi bhi show ke andar, you have to play the right game. Yeh nahi ki TRP ke liye kuch bhi khelo. Bahut achha ja rahe ho tum log. From Day-1, I have never seen the response you are getting. To make it bigger and better, be honest and real. Not by ki yaar yeh bakwas kar raha hai, jhoot bol raha hai, chilla raha hai. Point yeh nahi hai. Woh aapke channel ko bandh kar denge (Be it Bigg Boss or any other show, you have to play the right game. You can’t do anything for TRP. From Day 1, I have never seen the response you are getting. Be honest and real to win big. One should not speak nonsense, lie and shout. That’s not how you get across the point. They will shut down your channel)”.

Salman Khan is also one of the 38 plaintiffs who have filed a civil suit against the channel for publishing irresponsible, derogatory and defamatory remarks against Bollywood.
