According to the received data, about 502 dengue cases have been reported. in Nagpur district in the month of September. In Nagpur city, the cases started increasing in the month of June (98), in the month of July (382) and in the month of August (1,030). Between the months of June to August, about 5 deaths in Nagpur have also happened due to dengue. There were 5 more deaths in the month of September. Due to this, the toll of Nagpur district has gone up to 10 in 2021 this year.

Nagpur city division with 6 districts has also seen a decline. In the month of September. As compared to the previous month. The number of dengue cases has increased in the division as compared to more than 500. Dengue cases in the year 2020 and 1,300 in the year 2019. And has increased to about 3,030.

Official figures showed fewer cases

In this year 2021, more than 16,000 serum samples have been collected from 6 districts by the Health Department. But only 3,030 have tested positive in the ELISA confirmation test.

But recently, there has been a significant drop. In the admission of dengue cases inside the hospitals. The Assistant Director of Health Services (Malaria) named Dr Shyam Nimgade has said that the Health Department is doing this work to make Nagpur Division an endemic area.

“With the help of district collectors. Health workers are being continuously monitored on a very large scale inside the division. Containment and breeding spots are strictly followed. All the activists have thoroughly destroyed. All the places helping to reduce the density of these mosquitoes,” he added, adding that the dengue cases are likely to drop further in the month of October.
