298 Buses in City for State Elections
As we gear up for the state elections tommorrow, we see the city gearing up the best for the arrangements. The NMC is leaving no stone unturned to keep the arrangements par to the requirements as complied to the norms and diktats of Election Commission. To meet the requirements of the elections in city, the NMC has decided to deploy not less than 298 buses in the city. As per reports, these city body would render 171 standard buses, 101 mid level buses and 26 mini Apli buses.
These buses would be seen plying on the roads of Nagpur city from 20 to 21st October to meet the requirements of the election day. As per reports, the senior officials of NMC of the transport department of around 298 buses will be needed to carry out the staff along with the security personnel to polling stations needed in each and every constituency on both days. Also, the body has requested the district election office with a proposal that will be submitted over the requirements of the moving fleet for election duties, which will be arranged and approved by the city body NMC.
It has to be noted that the district election office that are not to be cleared the funds of INR 7 million for the services that would be needed for the said two days for not less than 250 buses during the elections that were earlier held this year in April. Ravindra Thakre the city collector claimed that he was not knowing about the outstanding dues but at the same time he said he would clear the matter as soon as possible. The said buses would be moving in all the directions of the city where more tan 52 buses would be deployed.
