Nagpur University to Invest Six Crores on Sports Infrastructure
The Nagpur University better known as Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University is back in news and this time for their huge investment plans for getting better sports facilities. As per reports, the university plans to add the modern Synthetic track that would be built soon on the current usual tracks on the university ground. Thus the students of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University would have first of its kind of track in the city.
However, the critics do not find it worthy to install at the ground as they feel it would further flaw the ground and would not be beneficial in the longer run. It was proposed in2013 during the Dhananjay Timekar. However, it took seven years to get the nod for this proposal as the earlier government has kept things on hold calling it to have a technically defective solution for the track and thus for the runners.
The critics feel that for building the same, the pavilion installed on both sides will have to be demolished first and then the work would be added. Also, people feel that this project is too expensive to be considered as it happens to be a synthetic track. Talking about the same, the Director of Physical Education Dr. Sharad Suryawanshi claimed that there is no need to have a track to be built at the north-south side due to the lack of space in the said area. He added that the runners from the Nagpur University barely need any synthetic track, thus the money invested here would be futile affair.
